Together for Student Mental Health: Building a Caring Campus! Launch of "Tsuen Kwai Tsing Mental Health Month 2026"!
2026.10.23
In response to the district-wide mental health initiative jointly driven by the Secondary and Primary School Heads Associations of Tsuen Wan, Kwai Chung, and Tsing Yi, our school is actively supporting the "Tsuen Kwai Tsing Mental Health Month 2026" and the Education Bureau's "4Rs Mental Health Charter" with the grand launch of our school-wide activity, "TYTAPS: Transforming Stress with Soft Power"!
Seamlessly blending the traditional Tai Chi philosophy of "yielding to force and overcoming hardness with softness," this programme teaches students how to cope with stress and emotional challenges without "clashing head-on." This helps students build psychological resilience and achieve a balanced development of mind, body, and soul.
The event kicked off with a smooth and impressive demonstration by the school’s Tai Chi Rouliqiu (Soft Ball) Team. Led by teachers, all teachers and students then learned breathing techniques together and took part in the "One Pillar to Heaven" mindfulness experience. Through the "4-4-4 Breathing Method," everyone calmed their minds, adjusted their breathing, and felt a sense of inner balance and focus.
Next, everyone learned basic Tai Chi moves together, including "Pushing Left and Right," "Embracing the Moon," and "Swallow Skimming the Water"—moves that symbolize protecting one's emotions, staying grounded, and pushing worries away. To wrap up the event, Principal Mak led the entire school in chanting our empowering slogan: "TYTAPS: Transforming stress with soft power, adapting gracefully instead of clashing!", followed by a memorable school photo!
Let us unite to care for student mental health, create an inclusive and caring campus culture, and accompany our children to grow up happy and healthy!
